When we feel rushed and impatient, incapable of making clear decisions, when our vision is clouded and crowded with doubt and anxiety, we forget that time is on our side. We often live our lives as if we were an instant drink to be dissolved and consumed as fast as possible. We forget that time gives clarity, focus, and a chance to readjust our actions. Time gives us the space we need to grow. When children feel pressured to get it all and do it all right away, we need to remind them that it is alright for them to think, breathe, and grow at their own pace. We need to teach them that there's always time for what is important.
The gift of time is a gift of faith. It says: I trust you. I believe in you and I know you will get there in your own time. I will be here when you are ready.
