Cause' I'm a gummy bear..."
I watched them as they walk towards me and must resist the urge to sing with them, especially since these are the only lines of the song they sing and the only lines I know.
It is sweet how these two girls look at each other as they sing, their eyes tentatively checking to see if they are supported in this moment of happiness. I know I am witnessing a blooming friendship. It is fresh and open, full of vulnerability, anticipation and promise. In their hopeful eyes, I am brought back to my own childhood. It seems so far away and yet the memories are there, some as if they happened yesterday, some coated in happiness, some locked away, and some that only serve to bring a bitter taste in my mouth.
